Heinrich Heine in your mother tongue

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the HHU and International Mother Tongue Day, you can listen to the Poem "Die Loreley" by Heinrich Heine in more than 35 languages including some (very) endangered languages.

Complete readings of the poem and small translations (first 4-6 verses) that have been made specifically for this project are available. If you want to listen to Miriwoong, Nahuat, Kannada, Nepali, Azerbaijani, and many more languages and see how the poem is written in those languages, you cannot miss it!

We apologize for the mistakes in some of the videos, but currently we do not have the possibility to redo them.

The translations of Andaluz, Astuarian, Azerbaijani, Bengali, Kannada, Korean, Bavarian, Marathi, Miriwoong, Nahuat and Nepali at the bottom of the page were created specifically for the project and cannot be found anywhere else!
